Ansu Fati: Hola to the future

The kid from the South of Spain is becoming a new footballing sensation for both Club & Country after becoming the youngest player to score for both. Just last season, the kid of the immigrant made his debut for Barcelona under Valverde, aged just 16, already showing confidence & calm on the ball in terms of skills, passing, decision-making as well as goal scoring ability.

He became the second youngest player to debut for Spain at the age of 17 against Germany and scored his first senior goal for the ‘La Roja ‘in his 2nd game against Ukraine in a 4-0 win at the UEFA Nations League. Usually we have seen young Ansu deployed on the left side of the field and likes to make runs inside and center of the pitch. He will make mistakes, he will learn but he will definitely also improve further!

Fati got taste of professional club football action in a 5-2 home win over Real Betis at the Camp Nou, where the fans witnessed another long due prodigal talent from the ‘La Masia’ youth set up. The young immigrant from Guinea-Bissau started from the bench without even playing for the reserve team, coming on to replace goal scorer Carles Perez.

Since then young Ansummane has never looked back, but needs to look ahead of the future and control his present, apart from becoming one of the youngest player and scorer for both club & country, the Spanish teenager is now already being considered to become the heir of Messi’s throne and become the next ‘no.10’.

Since then young Ansummane has never looked back, but needs to look ahead of the future and control his present, apart from becoming one of the youngest player and scorer for both club & country, the Spanish teenager is now already being considered to become the heir of Messi’s throne and become the next ‘no.10’. Fati is also the youngest goal for the club in the UEFA Champions league as well as the competition itself, aged 17 years and 40 days against Inter Milan on 10th December 2019 in a 2-1 win.

Ansu is the jewel from the La Masia system, who needs time and polishing. It is not easy becoming a start at a club like Barcelona at such an early age, where you have to ensure your feet stay at the ground: does not take long for fame and success to start poisoning young minds. Although he could be the real deal, with pace, instinct and adaptable to versatility. It took him only 6 days since his debut on 25th August 2019, to score his first senior goal for the Catalans in a 2-2 draw against Osasuna. A year younger than Messi, who scored his first goal, aged 17 against Albacete with an assist from the Brazilian maestro, Ronaldinho.

Ansumanne Fati has many years ahead of him; he would be hoping that Messi would stay longer to help him in the transition phase before he takes over. Huge responsibility on young shoulders, but someone has to step up … Ansu the kid, may be the man in the future to do just that!
